…the Villa

The Villas are bathed in light, from the first rays of sunrise streaming through the floor to ceiling glass to stunning sunsets retreating to the west.  The beautiful natural landscape integrates seamlessly with the restful interiors of The Villas, offering a true bush retreat.

Comfy lounge, luxurious CULTIVER linen sheets, soak tub – inside, your Villa provides a relaxed, intimate space. A fully equipped kitchen is stocked with abundant local produce for you to prepare your breakfast, or there are excellent breakfast options in nearby cafes.

Floor to ceiling glass creates a light-filled space, integrating the restful interiors with the natural landscape of the Australian bush. The front and rear decks offer inviting options for an early morning coffee or a late afternoon wine, and a connection with the peaceful surrounds.

The decision will be hard to make – explore all that the Barossa has to offer, or curl up with a book, take time to reflect and lose yourself for a while?  Perhaps all of the above!!

…the Seasons

Spring – budburst, blossoms, bursting with new life.   From the vantage point of your Villa you can see birds busily nesting and caring for their young.  It’s ideal weather to explore our village of Marananga on foot – 5 cellar doors, our local gin distillery and an award-winning restaurant all within a 10-minute walk.  Or if you’re feeling energetic, explore the length of the iconic Seppeltsfield Road by bike.

In Summer - days are hot, vines emerald green, skies brilliant blue. Cool early morning walks might offer a meeting with our local mob of kangaroos (or a stroll at last light).  The extraordinary sunsets call for chilled Riesling, Rosé or a local gin…and midnight blue skies provide a backdrop to a myriad of stars.

In Autumn, the sounds and sights of the grape harvest are everywhere - tractors passing by towing their load of fruit, the smell of ferments on the air, and a sense of anticipation for the coming vintage.  Long golden days and vines splashed with autumn colours are an invitation for lazy afternoons and an abundant platter of the best of the Barossa’s produce.

Winter is a beautiful time to be in the Barossa.  The air is crisp and clean, the neatly pruned vines sit starkly against rolling green hills and for those willing to rug up it’s a perfect season for bracing walks in the idyllic surrounds.  An early morning foray to the Barossa Farmers Market, an afternoon exploring local cellar doors, and a cosy evening in your Villa.

…the Space

Two Villas. One hectare of land.  Space to breathe.

Our land is yours to explore and enjoy.  A wide open space overlooked by a majestic stand of 150 year old sugar gums and a backdrop of endangered Peppermint box woodland. We’ve planted an orchard of heritage fruit trees – with the promise of abundant fresh fruit in season. Take a cup of coffee and a book, and sit on some hay bales for an afternoon. Or find the eucalypt stumps under a grove of trees and enjoy the bird song and their entertaining antics.

Our Villas sit comfortably in this landscape. Graceful curves in harmony with the hills behind. Architecturally designed, shed-like, with a nod to the surrounding agricultural buildings, they offer an integrated indoor / outdoor experience within the natural environment. They take advantage of their unique location, set along a ridgeline with elevated views.  The native Australian bush stretches out beyond the rear decks, with magpies and kookaburras offering their distinctive songs, and galahs and swallows providing an aerial display.  On the front deck you’ll feel as if you are in the tree tops, with wide open space in front of you, and distant views to our neighbours’ vineyards and olive groves.  It’s a perfect location for cheese, wine and rocking chairs…

We’d love to share our beautiful part of the Barossa with you.
